Know Your DJ: DJ Meems

Another day of quarantine, another day of Know Your DJ. This time we’ll be showcasing our lovely Miya Carmichael, aka DJ Meems! DJ Meems has been a DJ with us for about a year now, playing what she would call “chill pop”, music that you can still move to but isn’t in your face pop”. DJ Meems is from Allentown, Pennsylvania and is now a sophomore here at BU majoring in neuroscience with a minor in Spanish. A woman of many skills and talents, Miya is also a photographer for Pipe Dream, a Scholars Mentor and a member of the blue soccer team. Getting into some personal favorites now, her favorite TV show is Jane the Virgin, favorite movie is Scott Pilgrim vs The World (feel u, DJ Meems) and favorite book is Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo. As far as favorite WHRW memories, DJ Meems would definitely say her favorite memory with us was Moefest last year with Injury Reserve and OSHUN (I. feel. u..)
As a final little dip into the world of DJ Meems, she wanted all lovers of Moe to know that she can in fact, touch the end of her chin with her tongue. What can we say, the talent here at WHRW is endless. Watch out for her show, “Soul Munchies”next semester! 💛✌️
