Marathon Information

This year, WHRW will be celebrating the 24th anniversary of the Paul J. Battaglia Marathon! This tradition was started to raise funds for the Paul J. Battaglia scholarship fund, which was created in honor of one of WHRW’s former General Managers (1998-2000). After graduating from Binghamton University’s School of Management in 2000, he got a job working for Marsh Risk Consulting in Tower 1 of the World Trade Center. Paul passed away in the terror attacks of 9/11, and in his honor, the scholarship fund was started, and so was WHRW’s annual PJB Marathon. Every year, we broadcast 24 hours of programming to celebrate Paul’s life and contributions to the station.
