The Paul J. Battaglia Marathon 2022
Written by Allen Domingo on March 24, 2022
This year, WHRW celebrates the 20th anniversary of the Paul J. Battaglia Marathon! This tradition was started to help fundraise money for the Paul J. Battaglia scholarship fund, which was created in honor of one of WHRW’s former General Managers (1998-2000). After graduating from Binghamton University’s school of management in 2000, he got a job working for Marsh Risk Consulting in Tower 1 of the World Trade Center. Paul passed away in the terror attacks of 9/11, and in his honor the scholarship fund was started, and so was WHRW’s annual PJB Marathon. Every year, we broadcast a full 24 hours of programming to celebrate Paul’s life and his contributions to the station.
This year, the Paul J. Battaglia Marathon will be running from 1pm on Friday, March 25th until 1pm on Saturday, March 26th. We will be playing games, holding skits, and more on air. You can listen to Marathon this year by checking out our webstream right here at whrw.fm, or by tuning in to 90.5FM while in the Greater Binghamton area.
